'Winter Poetry – Skating at Night William Wordsworth\r'
'Wordsworth turn ins a positive fond remembrance of overwinter that is personal to him. He gives a relish of excitement by using ââ¬Ëand. Also he shows how noisy it is by using ââ¬Ëbellowing and ââ¬Ënot a voice was idle. Even though it was c overage Wordsworth would or else be outside with his friends indeed inside: ââ¬ËI heeded not the summons. Wordsworth uniformwise wants excitement and freedom: ââ¬Ë rarified and exulting. He sames to play games with his friends, like a inborn foxhunt: ââ¬ËGames confederate of the chase\r\nHe uses similes and metaphors to show he is exhilarated and has loads of energy: ââ¬ËUntired horse and ââ¬Ëthe break horn. Wordsworth has used onomatopoeia and initial rhyme to show the effect of stop number: ââ¬ËWe hissed along and ââ¬ËThe pack loud bellowing speed is also shown by using the word ââ¬Ëflew, the simile ââ¬ËTinkled like iron shows the toffy side of winter.\r\nWordsworth uses the word ââ¬Ëmelancho ly to show that the beautiful scene, he once knew, is fading with old age a shows a slight sadness to the song.\r\nWinter Percy Bysshe Shelley\r\nShelley uses beginning rhyme to show that winter is harsh ââ¬Ëthe wind was his whip this also shows that it is a negative and destructive condemnation. He writes: ââ¬Ë single choppy finger to manage you wonder what winter volition do next. Shelley portrays winter as an evil credit using personification such as: ââ¬Ëwhip ââ¬Ëlip to make it more effective. Shelley also makes winter undecomposed brittle: ââ¬ËHis breath was a chain. Shelley shows how snappy and powerful winter can be by writing:\r\nââ¬ËHe came, fiercely in his chariot-throne by the tenfold of the safety zone Shelley also shows that even the more evil things like weeds have to hide from winter: ââ¬Ëwidows weeds which are forms of the living death fled from the frost Using alliteration: ââ¬Ëflight from frost gives winter an eerie determine wh ich makes things go away like ghosts without a trace.\r\nWhen icicles hang by the ring William Shakespeare\r\nShakespeare uses e preciseday characters to show the legitimateism of his verse to pass water a typical winter scene: ââ¬Ë shaft the Shepherd. He shows that even though the weather is awestricken life goes on: ââ¬Ë shipway be foul, then nightly sings the staring owl.\r\nUsing rhyme gives the feel of movement but is broken when the owl makes its sound: ââ¬ËBlow ââ¬ËSnow ââ¬ËSaw Raw. Everyone gets effected by the cold: ââ¬ËCoughing drowns the parsons saw ââ¬ËMarians lift is red and raw. Using row like ââ¬Ënippd and ââ¬Ëways be foul shows that is a cold mucky time.\r\nShakespeare tells it how winter was there and then. There is no sympathy for winter.\r\nEmmonsails heath in Winter John Clare\r\nClare gives no fine comment during his metrical composition, he just observes whats around him: ââ¬ËCrimpled leaves ââ¬Ëan oddling crow ââ¬Ë the old heron. His poetry is also very detailed which adds to the effectiveness of the poem. Clare puts a lack of stress on the words: ââ¬ËWhile the old heron. He uses personification to read the lake to life and make it a bigger fail of his observation: ââ¬ËLonely Lake.\r\nClare uses alliteration to create the comprehend of movement: ââ¬ËStarts slow but at the same time give a whiz of calmness: ââ¬Ë melancholy wing ââ¬ËAn oddling crow in idle motion. The scene is in harmony even the gypsy fits in: ââ¬Ëthe gypsy makes his bed. Clare give affection to the ââ¬Ëbouncing woodcock Clare uses the word ââ¬ËRove to show how much he has observed from wandering about.\r\nClares poem is found on observation and is portrayed like a fairytale scene where everything is in harmony and fits in with the world around it.\r\nConclusion\r\nIn the Poem ââ¬ËSkating on Ice the poem is based on a very personal scene, which is surplus to Wordsworth. He makes the poem ex citing, exhilarating and gives a sense of movement. This poem is effective for these reasons and makes you really believe that you are their taking part in the chase.\r\nIn Clares poem ââ¬ËWinter it reflects winter as being horrible and destructive. This is my favourite, as I believe this is how a typical cold winter day acts. Winter has been given the human beings characteristics to great effect showing everything winter is cognise to do.\r\nShakespeare creates a sense of realism in his poem ââ¬ËWhen icicles hang by the wall by give the poem everyday characters. He gives no sympathy, which makes it sound more real and effective. This poem is probably the most real out of all four and it portrays winter as a typical thing that happens.\r\nClares poem ââ¬ËEmmonsails heath in winter is based on observation. He makes everything sound beautiful and in harmony with everything else. He makes everything very calm leisurely. This poem portrays winter as a beautiful time almost l ike a well-painted painting.\r\n'
