The icon in this poem is coming from two line of productsing animals; the speakers argon a lurch and a golden retriever. In Roosting Hawk, the author uses diction to expose the arrogance of the haggle by devising him appear to look almost God-like or divine. He does this by using words like, convenience and feet locked upon bark, as if the trees which his feet are locked upon plump to him. The diction within the lines of florid Retrievals sketches the track to be care-free and upkeep only in the present moment.
